It is a little crazy busy around here- Halloween, Whole30, strep throat, losing teeth, Tae Kwan Do, piano, and yep, mom totally started a photography business. Today I decided to take a breath, pause, listen to some Beastie Boys, drink some hot tea, and catch up on editing my own photos. I am having so much fun shooting other families. I love it. I LOVE shooting people who are happy that I am taking their photos and capturing their moments. My own family doesn't always really feel that way- which is totally understandable. One cool thing that has happened as I have been shooting all of these sessions with other families is that when I am at home, I find that I am better at putting the camera down. Just being present, and soaking in all the wonder of watching my own kids be kids without a camera between us. I must be wired with a need to take a lot of photos (obviously), but shooting professionally expends enough of my energy in that area that I don't need to pick up my camera quite as often at home. I think things will slow down in the coming weeks, and I will have some time as winter approaches to revamp my website, complete a portfolio of client images, finalize my pricing and packaging, and continue to catch up on some workshops.
Of course, I haven't put my camera down all together. I still shoot my own kids at some point every day, and here are some of my personal images from the last few weeks. I will be back soon to share more client photos. I can't wait to post some of the photos I have taken during recent sessions! I hope your fall weather is as beautiful as ours is turning out to be. It is hard to believe that winter is ever actually coming...
