Project 365

Week 17 | 2019

Overwhelmed. We survived what I now think was norovirus, and it was pretty awful. Now, the school year is ending for everyone, and we are facing a summer with so many events already planned. We will go camping as we do every year when school gets out, and then a month later I will head to Guatemala for about a week. Before we do any of that, we have piano recitals and so many field trips and our last preschool graduation (sob).

I just started yoga outside of my house, and I think it is something that will be really great in this “season” (as it is popular to say these days). I do a lot of working out at home, but many times I need to stop mid-workout to parent or redirect the puppies. At yoga, I arrive, and they make it a point to say, “now we are locking the door” as class starts, and just knowing that I will get through the class with no interruption from anyone or anything is enough.

Still enjoying the lilacs. Drinking a lot of coffee. Getting all of the steps in. Reading books. Making big plans (as usual). Watching a little television with my kids (just finishing Parks and Rec). Photographed a birth, which I really need to edit and share. In summary, happy and grateful and trying to catch up.

Week 16 | 2019

A week where I have to include more than seven photos… Lida got her black belt, and I could not choose between two photos. The emotion on her face when she is accepting it, and the smiles from her instructors- seriously, one of my favorite photos ever. There was Easter, which didn’t result in many photos that I loved. And then there was the stomach bug. So much throwing up, starting Easter night. I still have two out of three children home recovering, and the laundry and general clean up of our house remains overwhelming. I am trying to get some client photos edited in the tiny pockets of time I am finding free, plus take care of my dogs that are accustomed to multiple walks every day, plus continue my workouts. This morning, my husband actually wrote, “appreciate lilacs” at the top of our to-do list- they just started opening last night. And we are about to miss the window for planting peas, which would make me incredibly sad. Hoping we have a slightly more boring (and MUCH healthier!) week ahead.

Week 15 | 2019

What a weird group of photos for this week. Also, my numbering was off, so I had to back up and revise my last post.

Why is there a photo of my son eating a sandwich? We are in “sandwich training” for when he goes to Kindergarten next year, and it was actually quite remarkable that I was able to convince him to eat a sandwich. Nutella and banana. And I have not been able to get him to do it again. It will be very inconvenient for him to try to take his current lunch staples (Mrs. Grass soup, or scrambled eggs) as a cold school lunch, and his pickiness makes hot lunch out of the question. We are going to keep working on it.
